Wary at first, the two slowly begin to open up as they recognize the loneliness in each other and are gradually drawn together. But the ayakashi curse eating away at Tōji spirals out of control, and he begins to transform into a fearsome yaksha. In the moment Kikka reaches out to the suffering Tōji, the dormant power within her awakens—the ability to break curses.
