Summary
Shanghai, 1920. Amidst the turbulent times, Shion, a student engrossed in reading the newspaper, hears the voice of a woman calling out to her. Her name is Shuryou, the wife of a military commander. She asks the well-educated Shion to write a letter on her behalf. Through exchanged words, the two are drawn to each other despite occasional clashes. Yet, a reality that promises no future together and the inevitable changes of the times painfully tear their feelings apart.
