Gabai Granny is based on the bestseller Saga no Gabai Baachan, which is penned by comedian Shimada Yoshichi as he recounts his childhood memories of growing up under the care of his grandmother. Gaiakitan is a period drama that takes place in 17th century Japan, where Sanada Yukimura is seen gathering his group of ninja called the "Sanada Ten Braves," a decade after the Battle of Sekigahara.
