From Baka-Updates: Kaitai is a science-fiction-ish BL story of bio-engineered humans, sinister policemen and moody scientists with mysterious pasts. Set in a depressing, fictitious London from somewhere in the near future, this manga is representative of Ishihara's earlier, non-yaoi works; rough, sketchy artwork accompanied by an interesting plot the likes of which is rarely seen in the shounen-ai demographic.

The main characters are Okamoto and Koizumi. Okamoto is an athlete, more preciously a basketball player. He just entered his high school just to be with his girlfriend, Yumi. There is a backstory between Okamoto and Yumi. Yumi has a large ugly scar on her back. Okamoto accidently dropped a boiling kettle on her back when they were elementary kids. Since then, Yumi threatened Okamoto to be responsible for what he had done by forcing Okamoto to be Yumi's man. Even though it does not clearly show, they regularly have sexual relationships. All that changes when the short and skinny Koizumi joins the basketball club. Koizumi is generally described as cute and feminine. You cannot even tell whether he is male or female in casual clothing.

Reality is far worse than the gossip. Aika was raped by the demon ruler (Suruga) and she somehow survived long enough to give birth to a boy. The half-demon was taken to the 'real world' (aka demon world) by his father and imprisoned in the "Cliff of Time". During his time there, Kai was a plaything to his elder brother, Kaiga. This is a serious series with rather violent, bloody scenes. The demons have no morals, seeing the human world as a big playground and sex with anyone is just fine. The only mistake Kai made in his life was existing, and he is constantly punished for it. If you've been looking for a dark, convoluted series with great artwork to read, Lumen Lunae would be a good choice.

All begins when Soga Naoaki went to complain to the president of the student counsil, Yoshizumi Sekai, about the reducing of his volleyball team's bookings. By coincidence, Naoaki becomes the vice-president of the student counsil because of the health of the current one. He and Sekai don't get along, but what happens when they have to organise the school festival?
