Anime description: Takemoto Takeru, an ordinary high school student, encounters a strange light during a bike delivery for his part time job. When he stops and searches the surroundings, he notices a cute girl named Hikari climbing out of a sparkling cocoon in the forest. Takeru instantly falls for her at first sight, but was interrupted when suddenly a monster appears at the same spot and attacks the girl. This is the beginning of adventurous and exciting days for Takeru, the mysterious girls, Hikari and Akari, his childhood friend Nishino, Mari, and his classmates.
The Nightmare of Fabrication is a beautifully drawn full-colour manga from Yoshitoshi ABe. The 18 page short story can be found in the Lain Omnipresence in Wired artbook. It's a bonus story which apparently isn't related with neither the anime nor the PS game. It shows characters who were included in the PS game but not in the TV series (like the psychiatrist), but also determinant characters from the anime who didn't appear in the videogame (like Deus).
Years after the country defeat and occupation period, Japan is still recovering. The 00V features different variations of the Mobile Suit from the series, and provides the stories about them in every chapter ("volumes"). The earlier stories of the 00V were told from Robert Spacey's perspective based on his encounters with different mobile suits during the height of Celestial Being's armed operations. The perspective of the stories later shifts to different characters, providing their side of the story behind the development and the operation of some of the mobile suits given in 00V.
