The stories are simple, but abundant with traditional fictional Japanese characters, such as the half-man half-bird Tengu, white serpents, fantastic carps, goblins and restless ghosts, driven by love or hatred.
The metropolitan police department boasts a special team of negotiators, specifically trained to resolve violent crimes such as hostage situations. While the squad's two top-notch negotiators possess extensive knowledge of human psychology and experience in dealing with criminals, they lack a crucial component. Their quest for the missing piece leads them to search for someone who harbors agape love, a selfless and unconditional love for all individuals. Such a person would form instant connections with criminals and possess the natural skills necessary for successful negotiation. As luck would have it, they discover this individual in the form of a teenage girl named Haruka. However, the question remains: Will the police department persuade her to join their team and become a negotiator?

Spoilers included summary: Under a contract and as the messenger of the angels, Sagami Takenomaru is given the mission of gathering the "Tears of Maria". Several girls within this series have tears growing within their hearts therefore becoming victims in order to have their tear(s) gathered. Starting with his first victim, a pure and dreamy girl named Kaga Nanao, Takenomaru must continue searching for Maria(s) to fulfill his mission in spite of who the victim might be. Girls in the Marianne Music Academy consist of a variety from girls that Sagami Takenomaru have no relation to and have not known to a childhood friend that acts as an older sister to him.

Two lonely and special people encounter each other. They are determined to rescue the people who left their soul's corpses behind and alleviate their soul's pain. This is a moving work that soothes the spiritual wounds!
The story centers around the young linguistic genius and university professor Testa. He is introduced by his senior, Sergeant Rossa, to the Allied Cryptanalysis Department. There, he is tasked to break the enemy werewolves' code, which the werewolves are using to encrypt their radio transmissions. Testa is astounded, as the only sound the encrypted code produces is the howling of a wolf. His research yields no results, and he resolves to capture a live werewolf for better cryptanalysis. After exhausting all possible means, he finally finds a female werewolf, Yonaga. A three-chapter adaptation of the winner of the Shonen Jump+ x Animax Anime Scenario Award, for which the artist, Akira Akatsuki, was a judge.

Kaine's best friend, Die, starts to suspect the fake-Kaine. Meanwhile, one by one, the fans of Endorphines begin to commit sucide after listening to the groups latest CD. Later on he accidentally meets other souls and tries to find out what actually happened to his sister. Apparently Volume 4 will be the last one.
