Note: Originally published as four volumes by Takeshobo and Kadokawa but was not complete until 1998 in the final serialization in Dragon Junior which was released in tankoubon in 1999 by Kodansha as Volume 5 "Shadow Skill Phantom of Shade."

This is the first character book for the Shaman King series. It is very text heavy, and focuses alot of the characters.

While Hashimoto Izou did write the series in the beginning, he had been doing less and less work starting from volume 4. Tanaka & Hashimoto reached a settlement and Shamo continued.
