This series is loosely based on the anime: Ash aspires to be a Pokémon Master, and together with the various friends and Pokémon that travel with him, embark on many adventures. Note: The manga was heavily edited and censored by VIZ since its original content was found too "offensive" by the American public and was made more "kid-friendly" (even though it was a Kodomo manga to begin with!).
