The story is set in the world of Luento, where beastmen live and phantom beasts dwell, and describes the journey of Balm, a beastman, and Polo, a stray child phantom beast. Parm is a trimmer of phantom beasts and travels around trimming their overgrown nails and hair. The story begins when Parm meets a child of a new species of phantom beast that can speak.

When he was a child, Ritsuki brought home a kitten and named it \"Tama\". He spent his days raising the cute ball of fluff only for it to take the form of a young beast-man who goes by the name of \"Shuri\". However, as they become high schoolers, Ritsuki mysteriously starts to distance himself from Shuri who had always been by his side...

This manga depicts the one-year gap in the story when Harumichi Bouya leaves Suzuran Boys High School until Hana Tsukishima arrives at Toaru City.
