Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic Otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe where he is one of four legendary heroes tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. But all is not as it seems as Naofumi is quickly betrayed and framed for a crime he did not commit. But after having defeated the last boss and freed everyone, he was swallowed up by a strange light and found himself inside the game world 500 years in the future and unable to leave.
