Lilian, who dreams of becoming a novelist, leaves the countryside for the city. As she shows her work to Edward, a renowned, established author, the two fall into a romantic relationship. Before long, Lilian learns that Edward has been publishing her writing under his own name. Swayed by his promise that he would let her debut as an author once she was recognized by the public, she continues day after day, writing as Edward's ghostwriter. Yet Lilian begins to doubt that life. One day, at the library, she picks up a book-only to find that it depicts Lilian's current life exactly as it is.
