The Rocket Man: An astronaut's job keeps him away from home for long stretches of time, so he has little time with his wife and son, only visiting them for a period of three days at a time. The story is told from the perspective of the son, who holds an interest in becoming an astronaut too. The Fog Horn: A man and his boss are putting in a night's work at a remote lighthouse when the lighthouse's resonating fog horn attracts a sea monster who destroys the place. The Screaming Woman: A mystery/suspense story, describing a young girl who tries to procure help in digging up a woman buried in an empty lot. Come into My Cellar: Better known as ''Boys! Raise Giant Mushrooms in Your Cellar!'' There are many wondrous things that small boys can order from mail order catalogs.

In just two volumes, the author manages to create an incredibly rich and fascinating world that is full of wonders and enchanting beauties. A world in which men are watched over by the mechanical goddess Marie who at times appears on the sky. Marie's music brings people happiness and harmony. Their life is free from advanced technology and the longing for progress. The main story centers around Kai, a young man who develops a deep affection for Marie. His quest for enlightenment leads him inside Marie's mechanical body where he learns the unbelievable truth about her and his own world.

From Cidsa: A spaceship lands on a bathhouse which belongs to Kazuto's family. Inside is Princess Warukure (Valkyrie) who gives part of her soul to Kazuto to save him from death (caused by her crash). Since she only has half of her soul, she turns into her child self. Now Kazuto and company must figure out how to fix the bathhouse and change Warukure back to normal.
