From Tokyopop: On a world with no women, the surviving men have reintroduced the female in the form of an android. Called Marionettes, they are built to serve men and are limited in their interactions with humans. That is until a poor boy named Otaru Mamiya encounters a Marionette named Lime. Lime is a Saber model with a special circuit that gives her emotions. When Otaru awakens two more Saber Marionettes, his life as an 'average' man quickly becomes as extraordinary as the lives of his eager, busty new friends.
Slight retelling of the 2001-2002 Mazinkaiser OVA series. Included in this vokume is a short story called Mazin Kaiser: Shin Majin Densetsu (Mazin Kaiser: Legend of a New Demon God). Great Mazinger (Adapted From) Mazinger Z (Adapted From)
From CMX: Matsuyuki Takeru could not have anticipated the decidedly different turn his life has taken. After his mother's death, life continued at a reasonably normal pace — he studied hard for exams, played fantasy role-playing games, even fell in love. But things began to change when he discovered a half-sister he didn't know about. A strange boy started appearing, claiming to be a warrior reborn who must fight an epic battle against forces of evil! When fantasy becomes reality, will every choice he makes affect the outcome?
Vash the Stampede is a gunman on the run with a 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head which has made it difficult for him to go anywhere without being chased and shot at. Because of the bounty, every town he ever visit ends up being destroyed because of his pursuers, and miracliously, no one ever gets killed. Meryl and Milly are two insurance agents that have been sent to find Vash the Stampede and keep him under surveillance so no more damage is caused. Meryl, who leads the pair, can't believe that the man they have met can possibly be the legendary gunman. This spikey haired, gangly, and blonde young man is extremely friendly, a pacifist, hates blood and suicide, absolutely loves donuts, and is a dork and a crybaby...there is no way he could he be Vash the Stampede, a notorious outlaw. However, there's more to Vash than just smiles and dounuts.
A coda to the OVA and novel of the same name, this six-chapter manga gives us a deeper glimpse into the back-stories of Rei Fukai, James Bukhar, Tomahawk John, and other members of the F.A.F. However, some of the details about the characters' pasts and relationships appear to deviate from the sequence of events as seen in the anime. Therefore, this manga should only be read after having first watched the anime or read the novel, and treated as an alternate story of sorts.
A "Diadem" is a word for 'crown' that has its root in Greek. "Stephanos", which appeared in "Mandala" 01, was also a 'crown'. It seems that we could consider this the second work in a continuing series of shorts that should perhaps be called a "Crown series".
A mercenary in cyber-armor battles a repressive cyborg regime.
A 64-page fantasy/sci-fi one-shot that ran in Afternoon. Winner of the Four Seasons Award but didn't get serialized.
From Storm in Heaven: Armageddon. The powerful weapon "Messiah" has ended the long war, leaving behind a barren wasteland. A boy wanders to the west, seeking the paradise that lies at the edge of the world. The man who created the weapon runs from those who would use him. Scattered by the winds of destruction, they meet and meet again.
A high-school student named Yu Komori is bitten by a radioactive spider, which gave him spider-like powers. Yu faces Japanese versions of villains such as Electro, the Lizard and the Kangaroo. Yu also has an Aunt May (her name is "Mei"), and the publisher of the Joho newspaper is a counterpart to J. Jonah Jameson. Only 7 out of the 13 Japanese stories in total were fully translated by Marvel, with heavy edits to remove the violent scenes. After that the title was cancelled, which was a likely decision by Marvel since the stories written by Hirai departed even further from the source material, and included scenes of sexual and gruesome imagery of a kind not seen in the original US Spider-Man comics.
