From Blu: It's present day, and Archangel Michael is fed up with the pathetic development of the human species. The angels, in their world high above ours, have been given the choice between destroying or preserving humanity. This will be decided by having "Plus Checkers" looking for good points and "Minus Checkers" looking for bad points, and whichever finds 10,000 points first decides the outcome. Chihaya and Kagetsuya are angels who have known each other since their days at military school in Eden, and having taken up opposing sides of this "good vs. bad points" checking system, are teamed together during their stay on Earth. However, Chihaya is unusual even by angelic standards—he has black hair, eyes and wings. He's one-of-a-kind, unusually powerful in spite of his naive demeanor (much to Kagetsuya's dismay), but set apart from his angel kin...until the Black Cancer strikes the heavenly population, darkening the wings and hair of its victims before spiraling them down into painful death. Tension builds among the angels and between Chihaya and Kagetsuya in particular, and it looks as if the secrets to the salvation or destruction of both Earth and Eden may lie with Chihaya himself. Note: The English version is of the Japanese Deluxe rerelease, contained in only four volumes and also having some bonus materials.
The eternal darkness which people call “night”. Long long ago, there was an opposite to this “night”. Something far brighter than the light of their lamps, the light of hope for humanity. Seek out the forgotten “morning”.
From B-U: Eat-man tells the missions of the adventurer/mercenary Bolt Crank. A cool guy that has the ability to manifest from his hands ANYTHING that he ate (hence the name of the manga). He takes on missions from people who are willing to pay the most but he's still an average good guy. Don't worry, it's not a spoiler cuz there are many plot twists. Truly worth reading. There are 19 volumes in total. However Viz only worked on till volume 2 or 3. The rest are scanlated. From manga jouhou: Eat-Man is a manga by Akihito Yoshitomi, serialized monthly in Dengeki Comics GAO! Anthology. Eat-Man follows the adventures of Bolt Crank a man who has the ability to eat anything(and I do mean ANY thing) and reform it through his arms at any time as he needs it. For example, he eats someone's gun, and he can reform it in his hand and it's fully functional. Being a Mercenary for hire, this ability naturally comes in handy. The stories of Eat-Man follow Bolt Crank as he goes through various jobs, or sometimes back to an old acquaintance for a favor or to finish a job started a long time ago. There isn't a consistent plotline overall, most of the time each story is a one-shot, with sometimes two-parters. Some details from previous stories are carried over, and characters come back to make other appearances in later stories.
The legendary loner Bolt Crank, who is the top adventurer in the world, has appeared once again. He takes on a variety of jobs in this far-future world, using his extraordinary ability, which is to eat anything (from screws to humanoid robots) and then reform it from his arm later, to great effect.
