The main story (of which, this first chapter is sort of the prologue to) is about a couple, who are rivals in the world of high school Go (As in the Japanese board game).

The reason for this is Mitsugu Kurokawa, a white-collar worker who appears to be nothing less than a good-hearted Samaritan. However, there seems to be an ulterior motive behind his generosity - he wants to love, honor, and cherish Tomoe for the rest of his life, a prospect that might be cut short by Tomoe's hostile and homophobic older brother, Souichi.
