“Omniscience” is a sci-fi graphic novel. Its story is set in a hypothetical future where augmented reality has invaded our daily lives, thanks to contact lenses superimposing virtual characters into reality. One of these characters, Ingeborg, is particularly popular; she is like a second mother for generations of children, devoted and insightful. She is, however, disavowed by more and more of her subscribers – authorities suspecting her of being more harmful than beneficial to their well-being. This is what two teenagers are going to discover when they help a young fellow from their boarding school to find his parents, who abandoned him a few years earlier for an unknown reason…

As a child, Amasawa Rei had attended Shirohato Park Institution. After her parents were killed in a car accident, she lived at the institution and befriended a boy. Freesia is set in an alternative Japanese society that is at war, and has passed a law legalizing retaliatory killings. If somebody kills your loved one, you are legally sanctioned to kill, or hire someone to kill, the victimizer. The premise of the game is that all of the players are rabbits in a colony, and one amongst them is randomly chosen to be a wolf that infiltrated the group of rabbits. Every round, the wolf kills off a rabbit, and every round, the group tries to figure out which of the rabbits is actually a wolf in disguise. Sometimes the kids who play this game decide to meet up in person, and Yuu, Mitsuki, Rei, Hajime, Eiji, and Haruka have done just that. Unfortunately, one of them has decided to take on the mantle of the wolf and has already killed once. Who is the wolf, and can they be stopped before everyone meets a very unpleasant end?

On the secluded island of Rokkenjima, owned by the rich and powerful Ushiromiya family, mysterious murders begin to occur as outlined on the epitaph of the Golden Witch Beatrice, whose existence has been continually denied by Battler Ushiromiya. When Beatrice defaults a win against Battler, she loses the will to continue and withdraws. As Battler waits for her to awaken, the witches Bernkastel and Lambdadelta wreck havoc upon the game board and the fates of those on Rokkenjima. When Battler re-enters the game to take the game board back for Beatrice, he discovers the circumstances have changed. In 1986, detective Erika Furudo has joined the inhabitants of Rokkenjima, approaching the murders from a "mystery" perspective in contrast to Battler's approach of "anti-fantasy" and denying magic. As Erika's investigation begins, the consequences of Natsuhi Ushiromiya's past actions regarding an offer from the family head, Kinzo, surface.
