Fujiko Mine is the object of Lupin's affections, but, since she is a thief herself, the duo's romance more than occasionally clashes with their competition for big scores. The global police force, Interpol, and in particular the tenacious Inspector Zenigata, long to capture Lupin and his gang. Zenigata's relationship with the eponymous master thief is a complicated one, characterized by mutual respect laced with utter disdain. The two have even worked together when it's served both their interests, but they understand that when the crisis ends, they must resume their former wariness and animosity toward each other.

Biskyu has the opportunity to become a knight Erudora's daughter, but instead falls in love with Erudora again. Biskyu, learning of the conspiracy by the Minister of Justice to try and kill Erudora, escapes with Erudora to release him from his accursed fate...

But when he escapes the secret organization "Ilumine" which was employing him, taking the specimen and his daughter Koyomi with him as he goes into hiding, Ilumine vows to track him down and retrieve the Archetype. T.J. is a professional "trapper" for Ilumine, and his job is to track down and destroy the monsters know as "Dicapay" that are wreaking havoc all over the world. The organization orders him to visit Hirasawa's island hideout and bring the specimen -- now a partially-matured Archetype named Kiya whose outward appearance is that of an adolescent boy -- back to them.
