The Universal Century began when humans migrated to outer space, and in the year UC0079, the Side 3 colonies declared independence as the Principality of Zeon, sparking a war with the Earth Federation. The conflict has been ongoing for almost a year, with intense fighting in the Thunderbolt sector—a region filled with remnants of destroyed warships and space colonies—as the Earth Federation seeks to reclaim Zeon-controlled territory.
In an imaginary age of gods about 20 years after the war, Japan is flooded with all the superhumans ever written about in fictional stories: titans from outer space, lifeforms from a mystical world, phantoms and goblins from ancient times, cyborgs created by scientists, relics that rose out of the ruins of ancient civilizations, and the list goes on. Some of them make no secret of their existence and have gained popularity in the society, while others cloak their identities and fight in secrecy. Naturally, the Japanese government cannot ignore the existence of these superhumans and establishes an organization under the Ministry of Health and Welfare - the Overpopulation Research Laboratory, a.k.a. the Superhuman Bureau. The story follows Kyouda Shirou, from settling an argument with plamo battle to becoming the Japan representative of the 'World Simulation Tournament' and the battle at Hobbytopia. Along the way original plamo designs were created which began the MSV series and BB Senshi series.
