Happy Epicurean

From Bamboo Garden Five different- very different- stories. But all are tragedies with a twist at the end. Some may have cut-off endings; but there's a true philosophy at the end. First story- Two cuts of the devil (done by BGscans) About a mood-obsessed girl, a crazy count, the girl's servant- and a cup of chocolate tea. Second story- Mr Laurence's dilemma (done by BGscans) About a tax collector who goes to Scotland to collect the whiskey and Scotland's rebellious yet ingenuous way of protecting it. Or do they really not know? Third story- The sultan's dialiah (done by BGscans) An emperor has sacrificed a daughter for the sake of peace between his country Bizantin and the Sultan- the lord-'s country. He dies, but what of his daughter? Fourth story- Scary bread (done by BGscans) About a Christian that attempts to 'teach' the vikings. But as time grows the Christian grows weary, for she is doing something very wrong and she knows it. Fifth story- Happy Epicurean (working project) About a little boy who can otherwise be known as a carnivore...

Lycanthrope Leo

If people who turn into animals really existed in the modern world, how would they behave? This book gives some realistic, yet unexpected, answers. Nobody is a complete good guy or bad guy--every character is a complex figure, and even the bad guys have some very good reasons for what they do. Leo is an innocent caught in the midst of it all, but nothing like the "helpless killer" stereotype of American werewolf movies--he is a person in control of his own powers, trying to decide what to do with his life now that so much has changed.

Both of them have been ostracized from their respective celestial realms--Chiaki because her origins are impure and Ororon because he is the youngest son of the Lord Devil and therefore a threat to his older brothers for leadership of the underworld. As various agents of heaven come by to destroy the angel Chiaki, she learns that having the incredibly powerful Ororon by her side is useful. And as assassin after assassin comes to eliminate Ororon, he learns that Chiaki can teach him a valuable lesson about the sanctity of life.

Mangaka Chou Zankoku Monogatari

From Mangascreener: Nawoki Karasawa is one of the longer-active and more prestigious names in the typically small time, lesser-known world of gag manga. In a genre where art skill is second to just about everything else, Karasawa's dialogue is hilariously sharp and witty. A gag parody of Shinji Mizushima's immortal "Mangaka Zankoku Monogatari" (Karasawa's title only differs by adding "cho" [super] to "zankoku"), a manga about the dreams, ambitions and suffering of a group of bright young mangaka, Karasawa brilliantly takes the piss out of just about everything involved with being a mangaka. It's lewd, raunchy, endlessly cynical and laugh-out-loud funny. Originally published in Ikki and the Big Comic Spirits special issue "Casual" from 2000 to 2003, it was collected into a single book in 2005.
