When a dying demigod, Gilgamesh of Uruk, returns to his city after hundreds of years of roaming the spirit world only to find his son taking his place, he removes him from the throne to sit in it for the last time and recall the memories and adventures he had with his best friend for life, the one who gave his life purpose - Enkidu. The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest known written story in the history of humanity. It was written approximately in the 2100s BCE compiled in 12 clay tablets inscribed with cuneiform, the oldest writing system. Following the adventures of a giant demigod king of the oldest city on earth, Uruk, King Gilgamesh follows his equally strong friend Enkidu from a life of power abuse into an adventurous search for immortality battling monsters and gods. Their quest is ultimately fulfilled as they are poetically immortalized by the countless writers, historians, interpreters and of course archaeologists that have worked hard to preserve the story and its meaning of love, friendship and mortality. This is my small attempt at approaching The Epic in contemporary manga/comic form that I originally started as a final project for art school but decided to expand upon it as I didn\'t feel I gave this beautiful thing justice. In a world ridden by a dark magic and darker intentions, two children find themselves thrown into depths they aren't equipped to climb out from. Forced to survive on their own from a young age, the two forge across the map in search of something that will change the fate that they can never seem to escape. Out the slums, through mountains and deserts, across oceans, and into distant lands, the story that unfolds is one of struggle and sorrow. Not even the gods themselves can tell how it will end.

3 Stories (part 1 and 3 of chapter 1 and chapter 3) here were adapted into a movie called Bourei no Sumu Ie ~Kanako Inuki Kyoufu WORLD~ (亡霊の棲む家～犬木加奈子恐怖world～) 1. Kurayami no Onnatachi (*暗闇の女たち* Women of the Darkness) 3 stories about women living normal lives in their apartments, but eventually everything starts going wrong. 2. Gokiburi no Ie (*ゴキブリの家* The House of Cockroaches) A rich woman that has a terrible fear of cockroaches faces a bizarre cockroach infestation... 3. Kao no nai Onna (*顔のない女* Faceless Woman) A woman\'s neighbor starts trying to take her identity and life... 4. Jukai Kitan (*樹海奇譚* Strange Tale of the Sea of Trees) A man enters the famous Aokigahara forest, known for its suicides, and he finds the corpse of a beautiful woman, and decides to take photos of it... 5. Rei to Asobu na Kodomotachi!! (*霊と遊ぶな 子供たち!!* Children, Don\'t Play with Ghosts!! Kanako Inuki tells her own scary stories from childhood. 6. Akumu no Tobira (*悪夢の扉* Door of Nightmares) A girl is stuck in twisted fairytale-esque nightmares...
