This manga follows the adventure of a boy named Beat, as he enters the Dragon Ball arcade game.
Set 10 years after the end of Dragon Ball Z in Age 794 known as Universe 18, the main plot revolves around a variety of universes. The strongest of each are invited to participate in a unique one time event, being a tournament which would be held in Universe 0, where there is apparently no life at all so it is okay for all competitors to use their true full power. Each universe can really be viewed as an alternate timeline, known as Multiverse Theory. The winner of the tournament will receive 3 wishes from the Namekian Dragon Porunga, from their own universe, as well as if needed, to use Dragon Balls from the other universes too. The tournament is hosted by the Organizers (Kaioshins, otherwise known as the "Kaioshins"), and that after the tournament is over and the winner is determined, they would grant the winner their prize, and then lastly decide to permanently close all links to all of the universes for good.
Bulma, a headstrong 16-year-old girl, is on a quest to find the mythical Dragon Balls—seven scattered magic orbs that grant the finder a single wish. She has but one desire in mind: a perfect boyfriend. On her journey, Bulma stumbles upon Gokuu Son, a powerful orphan who has only ever known one human besides her. Gokuu possesses one of the Dragon Balls, it being a memento from his late grandfather. In exchange for it, Bulma invites Gokuu to be a companion in her travels. As his prowess in martial arts flourishes, Gokuu attracts stronger opponents whose villainous plans could collapse beneath his might. He undertakes the endless venture of combat training to defend his loved ones and the fate of the planet itself.
After the end of the Tournament of Power, everyone has returned to their lives when suddenly a wandering traveler from another dimension appears in Universe 7...

A staff member of the Dragon Drive virtual reality game named Agent L realizes that there is something incredible about Chibi's performance and invites Reiji and Maiko to a special training room. There she reveals the real purpose of the game is for players to bring out their dragons' true potential. Just then a strange girl riding a dragon appears and takes them to a fantastic magical world. It turns out it this world is in peril of being taken over by an evil group called RI-ON and the only thing that can possibly stop them in none other than Reiji's little dragon!
