This manga is partly inspired by the real-life Japanese horse bandit, Hakuro Kohinata, and depicts the tumultuous life of Kensaku Ohinata, who moved to China at a young age, was kidnapped by a group of horse bandits, but rose to prominence among their ranks and eventually grew up to unite a number of them under the name of Xiao Dongyang. Kensaku\'s adventurous spirit and ambition, as well as his positive, brave personality, can sometimes lead to light-hearted mischief, but as he matures into a young man, he grows to experience bouts of delusion. Regarded as one of Mitsuteru Yokoyama\'s most realistic and human works, this manga draws inspiration from another real-life Japanese horse bandit: Date Junnosuke, thus vividly depicting the reality of Chinese horse bandits.

The year is 1939 and the world is plunged into chaos during the onslaught of WWII. After completing the initiation ritual, the 62nd Successor of Hokuto Shinken, Kasumi Kenshiro, is called upon by the destiny of Hokuto. He embarks on a new journey to the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) which is crawling with the Dutch Army along with an anonymous user who wields a mysterious fist!

This is the principle by which the not quite bad and not quite good characters in this story live, who tend to confuse the concepts of this principle for their own benefit. The story begins with a less responsible character, who is not quite organic, and for the most part beaten off on one hemisphere of the brain bio-android nicknamed Naid-i, who likes to complicate his life with his ill-considered actions, and likes to wear a rubber mask with built-in rabbit ears. The adventures of this character begin with a close acquaintance with a criminal gang called \"45 Stadium\", which includes especially distinguished in its cruelty natives of the sports institution with the same name.

After the Golden Week holiday, Kokoro Kasai, a stunningly beautiful and naturally charming high school sophomore, transfers to Shimotsuki High School. With her striking looks and engaging personality, she easily handles even the most daring conversations with a smile. Aspiring to become the student council president, Kokoro soon attracts the attention of some troublesome students with bad intentions. However, what they don\'t realize is that Kokoro Kasai is actually a psychopath.

As birth rates decline, in an effort to increase the total population of Japan, the country has implemented... a pet-humanism policy...? As more and more owners \"humanize\" their pets--having them become members of society--Japan begins to experience a hike in economic growth, as well as in increase in crimes committed by these \"dogmen\" and \"catmen\"...
