The central character in the story is Takayuki, the brother of Udou from Gosan no Heart. The plot revolves around his reunion with Kiyotake, a former high school classmate, after eight years at a gathering. Adding to the tension is the fact that Takayuki had stolen Kiyotake's girlfriend in school. With one of them being drunk, the outcome of their encounter is uncertain. Will Takayuki finally come to terms with his unrequited love, or will they both find a happy resolution?

One evening as Tokio Kasuka mourns his sibling's burial, he catches a young man trying to steal his brother Hajime's ashes. This man is called Kuroki Ren, and he claims that he had an arrangement with Hajime to go on a journey together, which is why he needed his ashes. Tokio is curious about Ren's story and agrees to lend him a bone with certain conditions.

Harumoto, advisor to yakuza boss Taniguchi, is known for his street smarts and short temper. But he has a softer side, and when he meets Mizuta sensei in a nightclub, he begins to dream of romance with this classy intellectual who seems to be from another world.
