Frightened, he ran away and confided in a journalist named Honda. Tragically, Honda died in a car crash the next day while on his way to meet Ichiro. In a mind-boggling turn of events, Honda transmitted information regarding the afterlife to the world through his own death. According to his account, when people die, they become souls that enter the afterlife. There, the world is split into three areas that are clashing in a war with Three Missions. The recent increase in births is due to the high number of deaths in this battle. To compensate, the dead are sent to the afterlife's battlefield, and plane crashes are staged to train souls for combat. The strange march Ichiro witnessed was the souls marching towards the battlefield. Honda's story was shared through the efforts of Shiro and Edda Shimoda, from the magazine Honda worked for. Honda was unfortunately imprisoned for spreading uncomfortable truths about the afterlife, and Ichiro died. However, with the help of the transmission of dead gods, their spirits managed to make it into the afterlife. Ichiro joined the resistance against the ongoing war in this new realm. He eventually freed 78.5 million ghosts, including Honda, and helped them return to the real world. The ghosts struggled to fit in and eventually settled in South America, where there was more space.
